Over 1,000 women farmers in Borno State have received a significant boost to their livelihoods, as Governor Babagana Umara Zulum approved N50 million empowerment package for them.

The approval was made on Wednesday when the governor visited Wala community of Gwoza Local Government Area.

Each woman will receive N50,000 to support their agricultural endeavors, enabling them to regain their sources of livelihood and contribute to the state's economic recovery.

This initiative is a welcome relief for women affected by the Boko Haram insurgency, which has devastated communities and disrupted economic activities in the region.

In a related development, the governor has also flagged off the construction of 500 housing units in Wala town.

It aimed at providing shelter for families displaced by the insurgency.

The housing estate will include essential infrastructure such as a hospital, school, and water points.

With these initiatives, the governor is providing a lifeline to women and families affected by the conflict, helping them rebuild their lives and secure a brighter future.
