Barrister Hauwa Abubakar, Borno's Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, has commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for resettling 424 families in Konduga Local Government Area.

The governor's efforts include commissioning 500 housing units, providing comprehensive shelter for those living in the Konduga Camp.

'This initiative demonstrates Gov. Zulum's commitment to closing all IDP camps and allowing displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes with dignity,' she said.

The resettlement project is part of the governor's broader vision for sustainable development and social welfare in Borno State.

It includes essential services such as schools, healthcare centers, water infrastructure, food items, and financial support.

She explained that Gov. Zulum has allocated 15% of the state's annual budget to address the housing needs of IDPs.

She added that he plans to construct 85,000 houses worth $2.7 billion, ensuring displaced families are resettled in safe and dignified conditions.

According to Barr. Hauwa, Gov. Zulum's proactive approach ensures that displaced families are resettled in safe and dignified conditions.

Recall, few days ago, the governor resettled almost 500 IDP families in newly constructed housing units in the local government, providing them with food and non-food items.

This initiative is part of his plan to resettle all IDPs in their ancestral homes in the near future.
