A disturbing video depicting a man brutally beating a small boy has gone viral on social media, prompting widespread condemnation and outrage across Borno State.

According to reports, the man is said to reside in Gajiram, Nganzai Local Government Area of Maiduguri.

Commissioner of women affairs and social development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, clarified that a different individual was initially arrested but was not the perpetrator in question.
'We are working diligently to apprehend the actual perpetrator and bring him to justice,' Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo assured.
She said that a committee has been set up to facilitate the arrest and ensure the perpetrator faces the consequences of his actions.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users claiming the man had been arrested by security forces in collaboration with the ministry of women affairs and social development.
However, these claims have been debunked by the commissioner, who emphasized that efforts are underway to track down the perpetrator.
