National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that Saudi Arabia has suspended the issuance of visas to Nigerians for future Umrah pilgrimages.
In an official statement released on Monday, NAHCON described the information as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard such rumors.
'The information circulating in the social media about Saudi-visa suspension on Nigerians is false,' the commission said.
NAHCON clarified that it has not received any formal communication from Saudi authorities concerning a visa ban on Nigerians. The commission emphasized the importance of relying solely on official updates for accurate information regarding Hajj and Umrah matters.
The statement was signed by NAHCON Management and shared through the commission’s verified social media platforms.
The clarification comes in response to a viral claim that 14 countries, including Nigeria, had been barred from performing future Umrah pilgrimages in Saudi Arabia.
