The University of Maiduguri has announced a public holiday for all staff and students in observance of the upcoming Easter celebrations.

In a circular released on Thursday by the Office of the Registrar said, the institution confirmed that the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

According to the circular signed by Dr. Malam Malah (Human Resources), on behalf of the Registrar, university offices will officially close by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, and reopen on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

The circular further noted that essential services will remain active throughout the public holidays to ensure continuity in critical operations.

The University extended its warm wishes to all members of staff and students, encouraging them to have a happy and memorable Easter celebration.
