The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has pledged to serve the state with dedication, fairness, and commitment to peace and security.
During his first press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Maiduguri on Monday, CP Abdulmajid assured the public that his leadership would adopt a professional, intelligence-led, and community-oriented policing approach to tackle the state's unique security challenges.
Acknowledging the complex security landscape in Borno, the CP expressed his determination to sustain and improve the gains made in the fight against crime, insurgency, and other threats to public safety.
He emphasized the importance of visibility policing, collaboration with sister security agencies, and partnership with traditional institutions, religious leaders, community groups, and the media.
CP Abdulmajid called for cooperation, information sharing, and mutual trust between the police and the public, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
He assured the public that his doors are open to suggestions and constructive engagement to improve policing services.
In his address to the officers and men of the command, the CP emphasized the need for professionalism, discipline, and commitment to core values, warning that corruption, human rights abuses, and unethical conduct would not be tolerated.
Expressing optimism about the future, CP Abdulmajid said that working together, the police and the public can strengthen public confidence in the police and foster a secure environment where residents can live, work, and thrive in peace.
