Four people have lost their lives as vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along Maiduguri-Damboa Road, Borno State.
The incident occured on Wednesday at about 12:30PM in Komala Village, Konduga Local Government Area.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Borno State Police Command Spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.
According to him, the incident occured when one Isuzu pickup vehicle with registration number DAM 156 XA (Borno) conveying passengers from Damboa to Maiduguri struck an IED suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists.
The blast led to the death of four people and injuring ten others.
ASP Daso added that the corpses of the deceased and the injured victims have been evacuated to the state specialist hospital, Maiduguri, for autopsy and medical treatment respectively.
'Normalcy has been restored, joint security team have been drafted to the scene to prevent further attacks, while efforts are ongoing by Police EOD-CBRN to prove the scene,' he assured.
