The Borno State Police Command has announced the recovery of a stolen Honda Civic vehicle and the arrest of four suspects linked to its theft.
According to a statement on Friday by the command's spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the vehicle, with Chassis Number ZHGEJ66XWH583094, was reported stolen on July 11 from the Gomari area of Maiduguri.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the command’s Crack Squad traced the vehicle and intercepted it on July 16 at about 5:30 p.m.
One Babagana Hamza Mohammed, a 33-year-old resident of Bulumkutu area, was arrested in connection with the vehicle.
During interrogation, he confessed to purchasing the car from two individuals identified as Babakura and Sadiq, both currently on the run.
Further investigations led to the arrest of two more suspects: Mohammed Sani Adamu, 50, and Abubakar Mohammed, 55, both from Ajilari area, Maiduguri.
They were found in possession of the stolen vehicle.
The command confirmed that the vehicle has been recovered while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The police advised residents to remain vigilant, park their vehicles in secure locations, and ensure all security measures are in place.
