The Borno State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered a stolen tricycle in Maiduguri, following weeks of surveillance and intelligence operations.
In a statement on Monday by the command's spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso said, the breakthrough was achieved by operatives of the Crack Squad.
According to the statement, the case began on August 4, 2025, when one Abubakar Tijjani of Jajeri area, Maiduguri, reported that his tricycle, with chassis number MD6M14PA8P4K02424 and body number BG40, had been stolen by unknown persons.
Acting on the report, the police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects, Yakubu Musa and Adamu Musa, both residents of Jajeri, on August 30, 2025.
The suspects were said to have voluntarily confessed to the crime, which facilitated the recovery of the stolen tricycle.
The commissioner of police commended the operatives for their commitment to fighting crime and reassured the public of the command’s determination to keep the state safe.
He also appealed to residents to continue supporting the police by providing credible information that could help in curbing criminal activities.
The command provided emergency contact numbers — 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293 — for members of the public to report suspicious activities.
