A poster circulating on social media claiming that Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe is contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives has been described as false and misleading.

This was contained in a statement signed on Sunday by Halima Abatcha, special assistant on media to Engr. Bababe.

The statement clarified that Engr. Bababe has neither declared nor indicated any interest in contesting for any political office.

It added that he has not authorized anyone to announce any political ambition on his behalf.

According to the statement, his focus remains on discharging his official duties and supporting the vision of Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, governor of Borno State.

It said he is committed to driving institutional reforms and improving public service efficiency.

Abatcha called on individuals, especially social media users and youth groups, to desist from producing or circulating unauthorized campaign materials linking Engr. Bababe to any political activity.

'The general public is hereby advised to disregard the said poster and any similar publications,' the statement concluded.
