The Borno Geographic Information Service has issued a new directive to Certificate of Occupancy holders across the state.
The agency is asking all individuals who collected their C of O from 2021 to date to submit their National Identification Numbers for proper documentation.
The directive aims to ensure accurate record integration and improve data management across all land transactions.
According to BOGIS, the instruction complies with Section 27(1)(d) of the National Identity Management Commission Act, 2007.
The section mandates the use of the National Identification Number for all land-related transactions, including purchase, transfer, and registration.
BOGIS stated that the submission period will run from October 31 to November 2, 2025.
Affected individuals are to send their NIN via SMS or WhatsApp to any of the following official numbers: 08029946666, 07066464611, or 07037237330.
The agency also announced that moving forward, the National Identification Number will be a mandatory requirement for all land-related transactions handled by BOGIS.
