Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has dissolved the state executive council, effective immediately.
This was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Bukar Tijjani.
According to him, the move is aimed at allowing members of the council to contest in the upcoming general elections.
The governor directed all commissioners to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to the permanent secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.
Gov. Zulum expressed his appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to Borno State's development.
The dissolution is expected to create an enabling environment for interested members to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries and congresses.
This move is seen as a strategic step towards ensuring a smooth transition and allowing potential candidates to pursue their electoral ambitions.
