Former federal lawmaker, Hon. Isa Lawan Kangar has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Campaign Council of the Incoming Member, House of Representatives for Abadam, Guzamala, Kukawa and Mobbar Federal Constituency, Hon. Hajja Fati Kak3nna Monguno.
The appointment was announced in a statement signed by her PA/Media aide, Fatima Bunu.
According to the statement, Hon. Kangar, a seasoned politician and one of the most influential grassroots politicians in Northern Borno, will lead the campaign structure of Hon. Monguno ahead of the forthcoming election.
Hon. Kangar previously served as Member, House of Representatives for Abadam/Guzamala/Kukawa/Mobbar Federal Constituency — the same constituency he will now serve as campaign DG.
The statement added that Kangar contested for the Borno North Senatorial Seat in 2019 and was the PDP flagbearer for Borno North in 2023, winning the primary with 270 votes out of 299 delegates.
Described as a former pillar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno, Kangar resigned from the PDP on 25th April 2025 and later joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that was said to have collapsed the opposition structure in Northern Borno.
Widely known as 'Kangar', he is regarded as one of the most accepted and loved politicians in Northern Borno due to his strong connection with the people at the ward level.
