A disturbing video has surfaced, revealing the traumatic beating of 12-year-old Fanna, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) girl working as a house help in a Maiduguri home.

The incident occurred in the home located at Damboa road, opposite CBN Quarters, where Fanna was accused of stealing a phone.

The video was posted by a concerned citizen sharing how Fanna was mercilessly assaulted by the mother, father, and children of the household.

She has since been hospitalised at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, suffering from severe physical injuries and internal bleeding.

According to our source who claimed anonymity, the police have been involved in the case, arresting the perpetrators.

The source said investigation is ongoing.

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach police for comments proved abortive.

Our reporters are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, highlighting the vulnerability of IDP children, particularly girls, who are often forced into domestic work and face exploitation and abuse.

We will continue to follow this story, advocating for justice and protection for Fanna and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

Stay tuned for further updates.
