Borno State Police Command has issued an urgent advisory to the public regarding severe disruptions caused by flash flooding on the Ajeri-Dikwa road and the Dikwa-M/Guri road.

According to a statement by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the command's spokesman, the flooding has resulted in extensive damage, leaving several routes impassable and posing significant challenges for commuters and travelers in the region.

Daso said the heavy rains that triggered the flash floods have impacted not only local transit but also affected commuters traveling from the neighboring districts of Mafa, Dikwa, Ngala, Marte, and Kalbalge.

Residents of Maiduguri and those coming from nearby countries, including Cameroon and Chad, are specifically urged to seek alternative routes to avoid the affected areas.

He added that authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and although no casualties have been reported, safety remains a top priority.

Daso noted that the command emphasized its commitment to ensuring public safety during this challenging situation.

'We encourage all commuters to remain aware of the ongoing developments and to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

'The police authority aims to ensure that the public is well-informed and able to navigate safely in light of the flood-related disruptions,' he noted.

Community members are advised to stay vigilant and be prepared for further changes to travel conditions due to unpredictable weather.
