In a gesture of kindness and solidarity, African business mogul, Aliko Dangote has donated N2 billion to victims of the recent flood in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The donation was announced during his visit to Government House Maiduguri on Friday, where he sympathized with the victims, state government, and people of Borno State.
Dangote, who assessed the level of damage caused by the flood, initially donated N1.5 billion but later added N500 million, bringing the total donation to N2 billion.
In a similar show of support, Gombe State Government has announced a donation of N100 million to the victims.
Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Gombe State Deputy Governor on behalf of the Gombe State Government, announced the donation at Government House Maiduguri on Friday.
Additionally, the Kebbi State Government has donated N200 million to the victims, while former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, donated N100 million on Thursday.
Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State, thanked and expressed gratitude to the donors for their support.
'We are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by these donors. Their donations will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of our people affected by the flood,' he said.
The donations aim to alleviate the suffering of thousands of people displaced by the flood, which destroyed properties worth millions and claimed lives.
