Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has donated N100 million to assist victims of the recent floods in Borno State.

The donation was presented during a sympathy visit to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, in Maiduguri on Saturday.

Gov. Buni emphasized the importance of collaborative support for affected communities.

'Yobe and Borno states are like twins that have suffered similar fates and need the support of one another,' he said.

He also announced a personal donation of foodstuff worth N50 million to further aid the victims.

Describing the humanitarian crisis as catastrophic, Gov. Buni called for support and assistance from everyone.

He expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the disaster and extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.

While responding, Gov. Zulum expressed profound gratitude to Gov. Buni and the people of Yobe State for their generosity and compassion.

'The people of Yobe and Borno states remain one united family; what affects one, affects the other,' he said.

He commended Buni for consistently strengthening the ties and brotherhood between the two states since he took office.

The gesture has been met with appreciation from the Borno government, highlighting the importance of mutual support and cooperation during times of crisis.

The total donation from Yobe State Government and Governor Buni stands at N150 million, demonstrating the state's commitment to supporting its neighboring state in times of need.
