Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralized 10 terrorists and recovered weapons and equipment during a night operation along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis in Borno State.

This was contained in a statement signed on Sunday by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, media information officer of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai.

The operation followed an earlier encounter where troops neutralized over 50 terrorists at the Katarko axis.

According to the statement, troops of Sector 1 from the 24 Task Force Brigade foiled an attempt by terrorists to infiltrate Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis.

It explained that after suffering casualties, the terrorists diverted toward Dikwa but were ambushed again and neutralized on the Dikwa–Marte road.

‘At about 23:50 hours on October 25, 2025, while manning a pre-established ambush position, the troops identified and engaged the hostile elements,’ the statement said.

‘The unit delivered heavy and accurate suppressive fire, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray.’

The statement added that at first light, troops carried out a clearance operation which confirmed the neutralization of 10 insurgents and the recovery of a cache of weapons and equipment.

Recovered items include five AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine gun, three locally made guns, two fabricated pistols, five AK-47 magazines, and a cache of 7.62mm ammunition.

Other recovered items include two motorcycles, two bicycles, a radio, a raincoat, a blanket, and assorted charms.

The military high command commended the troops for their gallantry and vigilance, noting that the success reflects the effectiveness of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the region.

It reaffirmed the commitment of Operation Hadin Kai to sustain offensive actions, protect civilians, and restore lasting peace and stability in the northeast.
