Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully repelled terrorist attacks on Buratai and Mallam Fatori in Borno State.
The early morning attacks resulted in killing scores of insurgents and recovering assorted arms and ammunition.
According to Capt. Reuben Kovanggiya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations Headquarters Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI, the terrorists attempted to infiltrate troops' locations in Buratai and Mallam Fatori on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
He said the troops swiftly engaged the terrorists with heavy gunfire, while the air component provided close air support.
He added that several lifeless bodies of terrorists were discovered, and a large cache of assorted arms and ammunition was recovered.
The recovered items include multiple units of AK-47 Rifles, General Purpose Machine Guns, Rocket Propelled Guns, and other terrorist equipment.
The coordinated efforts between ground forces and air components demonstrate the military's commitment to denying terrorists freedom of action in the region.
The operation is ongoing, with troops exploiting the general area and providing air support.
