For the second consecutive term, Hajiya Inna Galadima has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the chairmanship of Jere Local Government Area in Borno State.

Galadima, who is the current chairperson of Jere, was cleared unopposed by the party during its primary election held on Saturday. She announced her re-nomination in a message to her supporters.

'Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters of this esteemed platform. Alhamdulillah, our party primary elections were held this afternoon, and my party, the APC, has cleared me unopposed as the candidate to run for a second term as chairperson of Jere Local Government Council. We now await the general elections scheduled for December 13, God willing. I thank you all for your good wishes and prayers. My kind regards to all,' Galadima wrote.

Her endorsement, however, came as no surprise to many residents of Jere, who praised her performance, inclusive leadership style, and focus on community development.

On social media, several constituents commended her for transforming local governance and prioritizing people-centered initiatives.

Her constituents said she facilitated construction of boreholes at Bale Galtimari and other communities, distributed pesticide and herbicide to farmers, supported online voters registration among other community initiatives.

'Hon. Inna Galadima is the woman transforming Jere’s leadership with her inclusive approach to issues that concern the people. I hope her subordinates emulate her for the benefit of our community,' wrote Muhammad Zanna, a resident.

'Mother of development. Your passion for the people’s wellbeing speaks louder than words,' Fatima Abdullahi also wrote on Facebook.

Others recalled her efforts in providing basic amenities, including access to portable water and other infrastructure that improved the welfare of the people.

Galadima, first female local government chairperson in Borno State, is now set to contest the December 13 general elections, seeking to consolidate on her first-term achievements.
