Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has received the report of the Alau Dam Committee, chaired by Engr. Ahmad Garba, with a pledge to implement its recommendations.
The report, presented on Monday at the Government House in Maiduguri, outlines strategies for the revitalization of the dam, which has faced neglect and environmental degradation over the years.
According to Engr. Garba, the committee conducted thorough interviews and analysis of community views to compile the report, which aims to provide a roadmap for the dam's restoration.
Governor Zulum commended the committee's efforts and assured that the government would carefully review the findings and take necessary steps to implement the report's provisions.
'We will go through the report and do all that we can to ensure its recommendations are brought to action,' Governor Zulum said.
The revitalization of the Alau Dam is expected to boost agricultural activities, improve local livelihoods, and ensure a more sustainable future for the people of Borno State.
