In a move to bridge the gap between formal and non-formal education, particularly for Almajiri students, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has directed the establishment of a high Islamic college in Bama.

The announcement was made during a visit to HRH Dr. Umar Kyari Umar Elkanemi, Shehu of Bama on Thursday.

The new institution will offer certifications for Almajiri education, providing a pathway for these students to gain recognized qualifications.

This initiative aims to integrate traditional Islamic learning with a more structured educational framework.

The establishment of the college is part of a broader effort to rebuild Bama, which was heavily impacted by Boko Haram insurgency.

The governor highlighted the significant progress made in rebuilding efforts in other affected communities, including Banki, Darajamal, and Mayenti.

During the visit, the governor also approved the construction of a major water works and the rehabilitation of Bama's township road network.

These projects are intended to improve living conditions and facilitate movement within the community.

He visited Abbaram town to assess the damage caused by Boko Haram and facilitate the resettlement of displaced residents.
