The Borno State Government has received emergency relief materials worth N1 billion from the Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation (PCFRR).
The items handed over on Wednesday, which include food and non-food items, will be distributed to flood victims in the state.
The relief materials were handed over by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, represented by Alh. Abdullahi Usso.
The items are part of the federal government's efforts to provide relief to flood-affected communities across the country.
Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, represented by his deputy, Umar Kadafur, expressed gratitude to the federal government for the intervention.
He emphasized the devastating impact of the floods on the state and assured the public that the relief materials would be distributed fairly and transparently.
The state government has established a committee to oversee the distribution of relief items and coordinate recovery efforts.
The committee will ensure that the needs of all affected individuals are met.
The donated items includes, beans, noodles, seasoning, salt, sugar, tomatoes paste and vegetable oil.
Others includes, blankets, mosquito nets, nylon mats, bathing soap, detergent, diapers and sanitary pads.
