In a bid to enhance the safety and responsiveness of journalists in emergency situations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has partnered with the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) to host a two-day first aid workshop in Maiduguri.

The training, which kicked off today at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Maiduguri, aims to equip journalists with essential first aid skills to respond effectively during emergencies.

Participants were selected from various media organizations across the state, ensuring a diverse representation of journalists who can apply their newfound skills in different contexts.

By empowering journalists with these critical skills, the ICRC and NRCS hope to enhance their ability to provide life-saving interventions in high-pressure situations.

The workshop is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, Friday. Further details will be provided in due course.
