A 17-year-old suspect, Hassan Mohammed, has been arrested by the Borno State Police for alleged possession of drugs.
According to the Police spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Mohammed was arrested on January 17, during a raid operation in the Bulabulin Area of Maiduguri.
He said the suspect was found with 153 pieces of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
ASP Daso noted that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, after which Mohammed will be charged to court.
He assured that the Police Command in Borno State is committed to curbing all criminal activities in the state.
He called and urged parents and guardians to be watchful of their children/wards and report any suspicious activities to the Police.
