Borno State Police Command is conducting a specialized explosive ordnance risk awareness training for journalists in the state.
The training, which started at on Wednesday morning, is taking place at the Police EOD Training School in Maiduguri.
This training, approved by the command's commissioner of police, aims to equip journalists with essential knowledge on identifying and responding to explosive threats.
This will ensure their safety while covering conflict and security-related events in the region, where security risks remain a major concern.
The command's public relations officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, highlighted the importance of the training, emphasizing the need for journalists to be prepared and aware of the risks involved in reporting from high-risk environments.
The police aim to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure that journalists can perform their duties safely and effectively.
