In the aftermath of recent flooding in Maiduguri, the Borno State Police Command has issued important guidelines to ensure public safety and effective disaster management.

In the aim to mitigate the severity of the disaster, the commissioner of police, Borno state command, M L Yusufu has highlighted the risks associated with post flood disasters and cautions on how to manage such cases.

This was contained in a press release issued on Wednesday by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, supervising police public relations officer NorthEast.

According to the release, the commissioner emphasized the need for vigilance and caution as the community navigates the aftermath of the disaster.

Residents are also urged to avoid entry into flooded regions, be aware of potential looting incidents and verify information before sharing to combat misinformation.

The police are likewise, collaborating with relevant agencies to maintain order, safeguard citizens, and assist those affected.
