The Borno State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and apprehended three suspects in Sabon Gari, Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area.

According to a statement released by the command's spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the incident occurred on February 21, 2025, at approximately 1:00AM.

He said that the incident happened when the suspects, armed with a locally made pistol, invaded the victim’s residence.

He added that the victim, Mohammed Abubakar resisted and raised an alarm, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.

The suspects were identified as Salisu Hussani, Umar Bello, and Buhari Hussani who are all in their 20s.

ASP Daso said that the police responded to the distress call, officers from the Uba Police Divisional Headquarters launched a pursuit and successfully apprehended the fleeing suspects.

'The police successfully recovered a locally made pistol from them, and they are currently in police custody as investigations continue,' he said.

While commending the officers for their prompt response, the command's commissioner of police, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, affirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents.

He added that the police will not relent in bringing criminal elements to justice, urging all criminals to desist from their nefarious activities or be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.
