The Borno State Police Command has organized a training session for students of the University of Maiduguri on Explosive Risk Ordnance.

The training, which held at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Training School on Thursday in Maiduguri, was aimed at educating students currently undergoing their internship at the command on the dangers associated with explosive devices.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.

According to him, the session emphasized the importance of vigilance in identifying and reporting suspicious objects.

Speaking during the training, the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, highlighted the significance of security awareness among young people.

'As future leaders, it is essential that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and mitigate potential security threats,' he said.

In the release, the training was facilitated by experts from the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit Base 13, Maiduguri, and covered key topics including the identification of explosive devices, safety precautions, and emergency response procedures.

Reaffirming the command’s commitment to safety and security, ASP Daso, said that such initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to promote awareness and ensure public safety.
