Governor Babagana Umara Zulum visited victims of a bomb blast at the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, which occurred today along Maiduguri-Damboa Road, Borno State.

The governor expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as 'unfortunate' while highlighting a notable decrease in such attacks over the past few years.

He confirmed that the blast resulted in eight fatalities, seven severe injuries, and fourteen minor injuries.

He assured residents of ongoing collaboration with security agencies to mitigate risks.

'We have held strategic meetings with service chiefs in Abuja, reaffirming their commitment to curbing the resurgence of Boko Haram activities in our state,' the governor said.

Gov. Zulum emphasized the importance of collective efforts to support security agencies and safeguard the people.

'We will continue partnering with the Nigerian military and federal government to bolster security, enhance community resilience, and ensure the safe resumption of movement between Maiduguri and Damboa,' he added.

The governor urged communities to remain vigilant and resilient while calling on security forces to intensify efforts to prevent future attacks.

'We must work collectively to support our security agencies and safeguard our people,' he noted.

Authorities are currently conducting investigations and implementing heightened surveillance and clearance operations along critical transit routes to prevent similar incidents.
