The Borno State Police Command has successfully concluded the week-long National Police Day activities with a Walkathon held in Maiduguri on Saturday morning.

This is part of the build-up to the National Police Day celebration slated for Monday, April 7, 2025.

The Walkathon, which began at 6:00 AM from the Command Headquarters, brought together police officers, community members, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders in a show of unity, strength, and shared commitment to public safety.

It served as a symbolic end to a series of impactful community outreach programs held from April 2 to 5, including town hall meetings, sanitation exercises, medical outreach, and school sensitization campaigns—all aimed at strengthening police-public relations and promoting a safer society.

The main National Police Day celebration will hold on Monday, April 7, in line with the Presidential directive to annually honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of police officers across the country.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining such initiatives as part of efforts to build a safer and more inclusive society.
