Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, held a crucial closed-door meeting with Nigeria's top military leadership in Abuja to discuss coordinated action against Boko Haram insurgents.
The meetings were held separately with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar.
Discussions focused on strengthening military operations in the NorthEast, improving intelligence sharing among security agencies, and addressing the recent surge in attacks by the terror group.
Gov. Zulum had previously expressed concern about the rising attacks on civilian and military facilities in Borno State, calling for decisive action to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.
The governor was accompanied by a delegation of prominent officials, including senators representing Borno South, North, and Central, members of the House of Representatives, and the Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security.
