An improvised explosive device (IED) blast along the Maiduguri-Damboa Road in Borno State has claimed the lives of two people.
The incident occurred on Monday when a passenger vehicle detonated an IED planted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
The explosion resulted in the deaths of two passengers believed to be teachers, while two others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
This recent attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where terrorists have been known to target civilians and security forces using IEDs.
The Maiduguri-Damboa road serves as a vital supply corridor for perishable goods into Maiduguri, the state capital. Unfortunately, it has become a hotspot for terrorists attacks.
Recall, last month, a similar thing ncident occured on the road which claimed the lives of eight passengers and injured several others.
