Gov. Mai Mala Buni has convened a meeting of the Lake Chad Governors Forum on Wednesday at the Nigerian Embassy in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad.
It marked his first action as the forum's head, following his appointment in January as the chairman.
Discussions focused on the fifth session's resolutions, which took place in Maiduguri last January.
Participants explored strategies to implement the forum's decisions, with the subject of regional diplomacy being a key topic.
The forum also seeks greater international support.
'We need more backing,' the governor said, emphasizing that mobilizing resources is essential.
He noted that resources will sustain peacebuilding and bolster stability, given the region's history of conflict and security threats.
As the chairman, Gov. Buni vows spearhead partnership efforts.
He said he drive the Forum's agenda, with his goal being security and prosperity for millions in the region.
Key attendees included Ambassador Maman Nuhu, who serves as executive eecretary.
