The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children suspected to have been abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, and unlawfully transported to Mubi in Adamawa.

According to a statement by the command's spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the children were rescued on September 13, 2025, by officers led by ACP Marcos Mancha, Area Commander of Mubi, following credible intelligence.

The victims, all residents of Gwange in Maiduguri, were identified as: Adamu Musa, 16, Suleiman Idris, 10, Suleiman Mohammed, 11, Dauda Yahaya, 11 as well and Mohammed Alhassan, also 11 .

Investigations revealed that the children were unlawfully taken by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, Maiduguri, who is still on the run, but efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.

In the statement, the command's commissioner of police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the swift action of the Mubi Area Command, directing the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case.

He further assured that the rescued children would be reunited with their families.

The commissioner reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State.
