The Borno State Road Maintenance Agency (BORMA) is set to complete several critical road projects by the end of 2025.
BORMA Chairman, Engr. Sadu Abdullahi Auno, made the announcement during an inspection visit alongside members of the state house committee on works.
The chairman and his entourage visited key project sites which he said all construction work meets engineering standards, and he is confident that these projects will significantly improve the state's infrastructure.
Projects Underway:
Jos-Damasak Road: A 16.6km road project currently under construction.
Damasak-Baga Road: A key road project aimed at improving connectivity in the region.
Muhammadu Buhari International Airport Road: Rehabilitation and dualization have reached 80% completion, covering 3.28km of road and 1.1 sq/km of single lane and parking space.
- 'The dualization covers 3.2km in addition to parking spaces and single lane road that covers 1,100 sq/km,' Auno explained.
State Teaching Hospital Road Network: 80% completion, enhancing access to the hospital.
Bolori Road and Drainage Project: Expected completion within two months, covering 1.34km of road with a 2.68km side drain and outfall drain of 400 meters.
- 'The work is expected to be completed in two months' time, insha Allah,' Auno added.
Womdiyo-Chibok Road: A 20km road project currently under rehabilitation.
Government's Commitment:
The Borno State House of Assembly has praised Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for investing in critical road infrastructure.
Hon. Abdullahi Buba Abatcha, chairman of the house committee on works and housing, commended the governor for fulfilling promises made during the 2025 budget presentation.
'The governor has transformed the state with this huge investment on road infrastructure.
'The agency has done a very good job with the money appropriated by the State Assembly,' he said.
