The Borno State Police Command has launched an investigation after the body of a suspected electrical vandal was discovered near a transformer at Borno State University.

The unidentified male is believed to have been electrocuted while attempting to vandalize the electrical installations.

In a statement issued on Sunday by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer stated that preliminary findings point to electrocution as the cause of death.

The incident serves as a stern warning against the dangers of tampering with public infrastructure.

The Borno State Police Command, in collaboration with the Borno State Fire Service, has since evacuated the body to a hospital for further procedures.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, used the opportunity to reinforce his commitment to public safety.

He warned criminal elements to stop engaging in acts of vandalism, which not only compromise public safety but also endanger lives.

The Command also urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities around public facilities to the nearest police station.
