The Borno State Football Club Owners Association (BOFCOA) has announced the highly anticipated kick-off date for the Babagana Kalli Ozogola FA Cup 2025, set to electrify the state with thrilling football action.
After months of preparation, the stage is set for the tournament's commencement on October 29, 2025.
A total of 238 clubs will battle it out in the knockout phase, which will comprise the 1st round to the 5th round, before the top 16 teams progress to the group phase.
According to Abubakar Abdulazeez (Bolori) chairman of the strategic planning committee, each area will host its matches during the preliminaries.
Bolori said BOFCOA is committed to developing grassroots football in the state, aligning with the efforts of the Borno State Government to engage and encourage youths in viable football programs.
'This commitment is evident in the tournament's format, designed to promote participation and talent development from the grassroots level.
'We will continue to strive and complement the efforts of the Borno State Government by engaging and encouraging our youths in viable football programs, which will encourage participation and development of football from the grassroots,' he said.
The tournament promises to be an exciting spectacle, with over 430 matches scheduled to take place across various centers in Borno State.
