Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, Joint Task Force Northeast, have successfully neutralized several terrorists and prevented multiple attacks across Borno and Adamawa States between October 25 and 31, 2025.

The operations included the interception of terrorist logistics, an attempted suicide bombing in Kukawa, and an ambush near the Gwoza–Limankara axis.

The military said troops stood firm, responded swiftly, and prevented enemy advances while protecting civilians and maintaining operational control.

On October 25, troops foiled a major attack when terrorists attempted to enter Kukawa Town with a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device.

The troops fired an RPG, which bounced off the armored surface of the vehicle, before a T-55 tank neutralized it, averting what could have been a devastating explosion.

The attackers fled after sustained fire, while a 10-year-old girl who sustained minor injuries was treated in a medical facility.

In the Dikwa–Ajiri axis, troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force discovered and safely disposed of three Improvised Explosive Devices, preventing sabotage on a key supply route.

On October 29, troops of 192 Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, ambushed terrorists in the Mandara Mountains area, killing two and forcing others to flee.

Recovered items confirmed that terrorists continue to rely on bicycles and food supplies for movement and survival.

In a separate operation on October 30, troops of 202 Battalion and members of the Volunteer Force ambushed insurgents attempting to cross from Gezuwa toward Sambisa Forest along the Bama–Konduga route.

The ambush team engaged the terrorists, forcing them to retreat in disarray.

Also on October 29, troops of 232 Battalion under Operation Strangulation intercepted smugglers transporting a drum of fuel and two motorcycles at Fillin Ball and Sebore in Adamawa State.

The suspects abandoned the items and fled upon sighting the troops.

Similarly, during a cordon and search operation in Madagali, troops arrested five suspected Boko Haram members attempting to infiltrate Sabon Gari village.

Those arrested include Musa Mohammed (38), Gambo Musa (17), Mallam Mohammed (17), Abu Danjuma (27), and Umar Banna (26).

Troops recovered camouflage uniforms, ammunition, and 50 wraps of Indian hemp during the operation.

Air support from the Air Component Command provided precision strikes and reconnaissance, helping ground troops neutralize several terrorists and seize key logistics materials.

A follow-up operation on October 31 within a three-kilometer radius of Sambisa Forest led to the recovery of one terrorist’s body, an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and four bicycles.

No casualties were recorded on the part of the military.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism.

It reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to restoring peace in the Northeast and dismantling all remaining terrorist strongholds.
