Our reporter who visited Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa a Nigeria (EYN) Church in Bulumkutu, Maiduguri, worshippers expressed gratitude and joy as they marked the occasion with prayers, hymns, and the sharing of love and gifts.
Baba Mari, a church elder, reflected on the significance of the day, describing Christmas as a symbol of light overcoming darkness and evil.
'We've not gotten everything we desire, but we are content with the little we have,' Baba Mari said, resonating with the resilience of the congregation.
Ester Samuel, another church member, shared her excitement and described the day as one of love and generosity, highlighting the spirit of contentment and gratitude among the celebrants.
'With the help of God, I've prepared with the little I have to celebrate this day,' she said.
Reverend Yuguda, the church pastor, led the congregation in prayers and thanksgiving.
In his Christmas message, he emphasized the importance of love and fear of God as essential values for peace in the world.
'We thank God for this day despite the current hardship in the country. Let us share love with one another and live according to God's word,' he said.
