The Borno State Government is set to present its 2026 budget to the state Assembly on Monday, December 29, 2025.
The budget presentation, a constitutional event, will likely highlight initiatives addressing pressing issues, including the needs of women, children, and vulnerable groups.
Given the state's context, expectations are high that the budget will prioritize interventions in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for these groups.
Previous initiatives have shown progress in women empowerment, disability inclusion, and child protection.
The budget may build on these efforts, potentially allocating resources for girls' education, women's entrepreneurship, and support for vulnerable children.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the commissioner of information and internal security, Prof. Usman Tar, key stakeholders, government officials, and citizens are expected to attend the event at the Borno House of Assembly.
