Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have secured the surrender of 76 terrorist foot soldiers and some of their family members within the last one week.

In a statement issued by acting military information officer, Capt. Mohammed Goni, OPHK said the mass surrender is a direct result of sustained operations backed by credible and actionable intelligence across the theatre.

He said the development highlights the devastating impact of the sustained offensive by OPHK, which continues to dismantle terrorist strongholds and erode confidence within their ranks, the statement read.

According to Capt. Goni, the pressure also forced a fresh group of senior ISWAP leaders to abandon their enclaves and surrender to troops.

He noted that those who turned themselves in are currently in a secure location undergoing profiling, debriefing, and other established procedures.

According to the Joint Task Force, persistent combat and intelligence-led engagements have degraded the terrorists’ combat capabilities and disrupted their command and logistics structures.

Capt. Goni added that OPHK remains resolute in its mission to completely defeat terrorism and restore lasting peace and security across the North-East.

He added that the pressure on the remaining terrorist elements will continue unabated until they are completely neutralised or forced to surrender.
