Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Senior Technical Assistant on Print and Digital Communications to Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has won the digital communication category of the 2026 National Spokesperson Awards, NSAwards.
Mr. Bundi received news of the award in a letter dated 13th July while working on the editorial and production of Gov. Zulum’s signature publication, 'The 7th Verdict.'
He emerged winner after a rigorous selection process described by organizers as one of the most competitive editions since the award was instituted.
According to the organizers, Image Merchants Promotion Limited, IMPR, the 2026 NSAwards received 171 nominations.
After an initial eligibility screening, 91 entries met the required standards of clarity of objectives, demonstrable impact, and verifiable evidence including news reports, publications, digital footprints, and publicity visibility.
A second-stage intensive evaluation produced 42 finalists across 16 categories.
A seven-member jury panel chaired by Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi assessed all shortlisted entries using four core criteria: Impact, innovation and originality, reach, and quality of evidence.
UNILORIN TV was the closest contender in the digital communication category won by Bundi.
The NSAwards, organized by IMPR — publishers of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and Spokespersons Digest — is Nigeria’s premier platform for celebrating excellence in public communication, spokesperson roles, and strategic media engagement across various sectors.
The 2026 edition featured 16 categories covering professional excellence and individual distinction awards.
Bundi was appointed STA on print and digital communications by Gov. Zulum in January 2025.
He previously received awards on behalf of the Governor’s Media Team, including at the 2023 Spokespersons’ Communication Awards, SCA2023.
Before his current appointment, Bundi served as special assistant on new media from 2019 to 2023 and senior special assistant on new media from 2023 to 2025.
