The progress recorded under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, with the support of Hon. Babagana Kalli and Mr. Timothy Heman, has made one thing clear to football stakeholders across the country: continuity is key to sustaining the gains in Nigerian football.

Beyond the achievements already highlighted, several other areas show why extending this administration will benefit the game.

  1. Stronger Collaboration with the National Sports Commission The working relationship between the NFF leadership, the National Sports Commission, and key stakeholders — including our North-East Zone representative, Hon. Babagana Kalli, and Mr. Timothy Heman — has laid a solid foundation for football development. This partnership has driven key reforms in player welfare, club licensing, league administration, and commercial growth, aligning the NFF more closely with national sports policy.

  2. Renewed Confidence from Sponsors and Investors Under the current administration, Nigerian football has become more attractive to corporate partners. Improved governance, transparency, and visibility have led to stronger sponsorship deals and commercial partnerships. This influx of support is strengthening domestic competitions and creating more opportunities for clubs, players, and the football economy at large.

  3. Commitment to Player Welfare and Youth Development This administration has prioritized the welfare of players, coaches, referees, and match commissioners. Better welfare packages, insurance, and training have raised professionalism across the board. At the same time, deliberate investment in youth development and mentorship programs is ensuring a steady pipeline of talent for club and country. Alhamdulillah.

  4. Closer Work with State Football Associations
By engaging State FAs as true partners, the NFF has decentralized development and ensured reforms reach the grassroots. This collaboration has improved the organization of state leagues, talent discovery, and administration at the foundation of Nigerian football.

  5. Restoring Credibility and Confidence Most importantly, stakeholders now have renewed confidence in the administration of Nigerian football. Through improved organization, commitment to youth development, transparency in processes, and credibility in domestic competitions, trust has been rebuilt between the federation, clubs, fans, and the public.

Conclusion Football development is a journey, not a destination. While challenges remain, the reforms introduced under the Gusau-led NFF, working closely with Hon. Babagana Kalli and Mr. Timothy Heman, have set a foundation worth building on.

For stability, growth, and sustained progress, continuity is not just an option. It is the logical next step for Nigerian football.
