In a statewide broadcast, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum called for unity and collective effort in responding to the devastating floods that struck Maiduguri and its environs.

The governor expressed his deepest empathy to those affected, acknowledging the profound impact of the disaster on the community.

He assured citizens that the government is committed to aiding those in need and announced plans to constitute a multi-stakeholder committee to assess losses and guide the recovery process.

He appealed to community leaders, business owners, NGOs, and individuals to come together in support of those suffering, emphasizing the need for collective effort in responding to the disaster.

He highlighted the state's resilience and called for innovative thinking and commitment to rebuild lost infrastructure and homes.
