Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development has set out to train journalists on community engagement in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The training with a critical training session titled 'Understanding the Practice and Attitude of Community Engagement by Journalists' is currently underway at the Hajia Manga Memorial Hall in Maiduguri.
It is organized by the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from UK Aid.
The primary objective of the session is to enhance journalists' capacities to foster transitional justice and reconciliation in Borno State.
The training focuses on strengthening journalists' ability to engage meaningfully with local communities, as part of a broader project on Strengthening Capacities and Will for Transitional Justice and Reconciliation.
This initiative underscores the vital role of the media in supporting post-conflict recovery, rebuilding trust, and amplifying the voices of those affected by insurgency in the region.
By empowering journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge, the training aims to promote more effective community engagement and storytelling.
