Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of a new management board for the Borno University Teaching Hospital (BUTH).
In a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, Prof. Ahmed Ahidjo, the current Chief Medical Director of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), has been appointed as the Chairman of the BUTH Management Board.
While Prof. Ibrahim Kida, a renowned infectious diseases and epidemiology specialist, has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Director of BUTH.
The management board also includes representatives from various stakeholders, including the ministry of health, the medical college, the Borno State University, the Nigerian Medical Association, and the public.
The governor congratulated the appointees and urged them to leverage their expertise to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Borno State.
'Our goal is to provide our people with the best possible healthcare while also training the next generation of medical professionals,' the governor said.
All appointments are subject to confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.
