A delegation from Borno State is actively participating in the Qatar-Nigeria Business Forum, aiming to attract investment and forge partnerships in the livestock sector and other key areas.
The state, recognized for its pivotal role in transhumance livestock movement and marketing, is showcasing its potential as a prime investment destination.
The Borno State Governor's administration is leveraging the forum to advance its 10-year strategic transformation agenda and 25-year development plan, both of which prioritize the modernization and enhancement of the livestock industry for sustainable growth.
The delegation, comprised of key officials including Muhammad Goni Tijjani, advisor to the governor on livestock and fisheries development, and Dr. Bukar Ali Usman, Director General of the Borno State Livestock Management Agency, is engaging with Qatari businesses and government entities.
The forum, designed to strengthen economic ties between Qatar and Nigeria, provides a platform for bilateral meetings and the exploration of investment opportunities.
According to statement, Gov. Zulum’s vision to transform Borno into a competitive agri-business and commercial hub aligns seamlessly with the forum’s objectives.
The Borno State delegation's itinerary includes a series of strategic engagements:
Baladna Industries Ltd (February 24): Discussions focusing on investment, partnership opportunities, technology transfer, and sustainable livestock farming practices.
Qatar Free Zone Authority (QFZA) and Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) (February 25): Gaining insights into Qatar's investment incentives, regulatory frameworks, and financial services.
Hassad Foods and Widam Food Company (February 26): Exploring collaborations in food security, agribusiness investments, large-scale farming, food processing, and livestock trade.
Agrico and Lulu Hypermarket (February 27): Learning about hydroponic and sustainable farming techniques, technology adoption, and market entry strategies.
Bilateral Business Forum (February 27): A networking session to connect with Qatari business leaders and further solidify potential partnerships.
