An undisclosed number or persons, including women and children, lost their lives after vehicles traveling from Rann to Gamboru Ngala crossed planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Furunduma axis, approximately 11 kilometers from Rann, Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.

The incident occurred today around 11:00 a.m., leaving a devastating toll on families.

According to a source, among the dead were 4 women and 6 children, highlighting once again how women and young lives continue to bear the brunt of violence in the region. A total of 16 men were also killed.

In addition, three individuals, a woman, a man, and a child, were injured in the blast.

One of the injured has been evacuated to Gamboru Ngala for further medical treatment, while the other two are receiving care at Rann General Hospital.

As at the time of filing this report, details remain unclear, and an official statement has not been released.
