The crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah has been sighted in Saudi Arabia.

This was announced on the Haramain info on their official x page.

With this announcement, Dhul Hijjah 1446 begins tonight; Arafah on June 5 and Eld Al-Adha on June 6 2025.

Dhul Hijjah is one of the sacred months of the Islamic calendar in which Hajj is performed.

Hajj is the fifth pillars of Islam after Shahadah, Sallah, Fasting the month of Ramadan and Zakka.

Here are ten things to do in the first ten days of this month if you are not among those performing Hajj this year.

Things to Do in the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

  1. Fast all ten days or as many as you can, especially the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul-Hijjah).

  2. Recite the Qur’an abundantly.

  3. Engage in frequent Tasbih (SubhanAllah), Tahmid (Alhamdulillah), Tahlil (La ilaha illallah), and Takbir (Allahu Akbar).

  4. Send abundant Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ.

  5. Give plenty of Sadaqah (charity).

  6. Visit loved ones and the sick (Ziyarah).

  7. Work on reconciliation between people and mend broken relationships.

  8. Help others through acts of kindness and service.

  9. Proclaim Takbir often, especially after prayers and during daily routines.

  10. Make sincere du'a (prayers) for others, for the Ummah, and for your nation.

May Allāh accept the Hajj of the Hujjaj and our worship and allow us to make the most of these blessed days. Aameen.
